Dan here from Cheap Wedding Bands. A question I often come across is “How do I know I’m getting the right sized wedding rings when buying online?” Here are a few easy ways to make sure you’ll get great fitting wedding bands.

  • If you own good fitting ring already, go with that size.
  • If you don’t know your ring size, go window shopping at a local jeweler. Most will be happy to help, even if you don’t buy anything that day.
  • Many online stores offer ring sizers you can download for free. Here’s just one example.
  • One final tip: Just like shoes, fingers swell through the day. Always judge your ring size later in the day to avoid too tight a fit.

Hopefully, your wedding bands will be a perfect fit. If not, most stores will exchange or adjust your wedding rings for you at little or no charge.

Dan again from Cheap Wedding Bands. When buying your wedding bands avoid this costly mistake. Avoid paying high finance charges.

Paying for a wedding is already expensive enough. The last thing you need starting out your new life together is a mountain of debt from sky high interest charges. Here are some quick tips to keep your money where it belongs - with you.

  • Pay cash. If your budget allows, avoid the credit trap altogether and pay up front.
  • Shop around for jewelers who offer zero interest financing.
  • If zero interest isn’t an option, look for “90 days same as cash” or better. (Just make sure you can afford to pay off your wedding rings when the bill comes due.)
  • Avoid the high finance charges the jeweler wants you to pay him and be smart by using your own low interest credit card.
  • Ask family for help. Weddings generally bring out the best in relatives and you can use this to your advantage. If they’re willing, ask for a no interest loan. Better still, have them pay for your rings as their early wedding gift to you.

I’m sure one of this tips will work for you. Right now is a great time to be shopping for wedding bands. Before the Christmas rush, prices are discounted at many online stores. Take a look around, you and your wallet may be pleasantly surprised.

Here’s a quick tip when buying mens wedding bands - think durability and comfort. Most men will appreciate a tough metal like titanium or platinum that isn’t easily dented. And while an ornate matte finish may look great out of the box, for most men a decorative wedding band will quickly become scratched and chipped from daily use. Your best bet? Stick with a durable metal with a plain finish that will make your wedding band look good for years to come.
